For those unfamiliar with you, can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got involved in the fitness industry?

I was always an active child growing up and my passion for fitness evolved over time. I would play outside every day with my friends in the neighborhood. The family across the street had a daughter who was close to my age and they had a younger boy with Downe’s Syndrome. I spent a lot of time with them, and I became quite accustomed to interacting with him and understanding his unique needs. About the time that I started high school, the family moved away. A year or so later, I found out that his mother had started a local summer camp for children with special needs. I immediately signed up to be a volunteer at the camp that summer, and I continued to volunteer every summer until I graduated from high school. During that first summer, I became friends with another volunteer who was the caretaker of a child whose needs were more specialized than the other children. This new friend was a bodybuilder, and in his spare time he introduced me to the world of bodybuilding. A whole new world opened up to me. I found it very fascinating, and I began training with him. That summer I developed my foundation for health and fitness, and I absolutely fell in love with the sport and living a healthy lifestyle. The rest is history!

How did you become involved with Magnum Nutraceuticals? And tell us a little bit about the demos and what you love most about them?

Another Magnum Athlete, Abi Woodcock, referred me to Magnum. Abi always told me how great of a company Magnum was. Soon after, I started using Magnum’s products, and I fell in love with them!

What does your training look like?

Lauren’s Training Split:

  • Monday: Glutes/Hamstrings
  • Tuesday: Back/Biceps
  • Wednesday: Quads/Calves
  • Thursday: Shoulders/Chest/Triceps
  • Friday: Glutes/Hamstrings
  • Saturday: Rest
  • Sunday: Rest

How did you become involved in mudding, and what do you love about it?

I started doing mudding and half marathons as an event to help keep my clients motivated. Events help keep us motivated and are a fun goal to stay focused on. It’s great to do them as a group, and I love how we encourage each other to get through them.

What does your current diet look like?

Lauren’s Daily Diet:

  • Meal 1: 8 Egg Whites, ½ cup Oatmeal
  • Meal 2: Quattro Protein Shake and Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • Meal 3: 5 ounces Turkey, ¾ cup Rice and Vegetables
  • Meal 4: Protein Muffins
  • Meal 5: 4 ounces Chicken and Vegetables
  • Meal 6: Egg White Shake and Unsweetened Almond Milk

What’s the one food you couldn’t live without? And how do you handle cravings?

Chips and queso; I love them! I set a designated cheat meal each week with my friends; this keeps me focused, and I can go share my favorite meal with my friends. I’m very creative and keep my food tasty, so I don’t stray from my meal plan when I shouldn’t.

You seem to rock the cowgirl look; tell us about that.

I am a backup dancer for the Ben Mc Peak band. I enjoy being a backup dancer with my friends; we get to teach international travelers a bit about how we do things in Texas! So it’s a lot of fun! Not to mention, it’s extra cardio! (Laughs)

Do you have any special beauty tips you’d like to share?

Dry shampoo is my best friend, and I don’t leave home without it!

What are your hobbies and interests outside of the fitness industry?

I enjoy traveling and seeing the world when I’m not working or working out. My leisure activities usually consist of some types of physical activity as well. I love the outdoors and going for walks. Nature is so beautiful, and I can’t get enough of it!
