For those unfamiliar with you, can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got involved in the fitness industry?
When I was much younger, my oldest brother was studying to be a massage therapist and there were anatomy books all over the house. I became fascinated with the human body, how it worked, and how to use it as the ‘ultimate’ tool. In my senior year in high school, I took up weight lifting in an attempt to impress the ladies! In college, I tackled Human Kinetics, became a Personal Fitness & Health Consultant, and eventually started competing in Men’s Physique competitions, with great success!
What is your current occupation?
I am a Fitness & Health Consultant, Contest Preparation Coach, Sanctioned Posing Coach, International Fitness Cover Model and Public Motivational Speaker.
I truly enjoy what I do, and I am slowly venturing into new areas that challenge me!
Who is your current sponsor and how did you get connected with them? If you’re not, who would you like to be sponsored by and why?
My ultimate goal in a sponsorship would be to work with a company that has aligned morals, values and ethics to my own. I would love to work with Nike, Under Armour or New Balance. I love these companies in particularly, because they represent natural athleticism and that is something that I truly believe in and have promoted since I commenced my fitness, health and wellness journey.
You are very sincere about your desire to help others. Where does that come from, and what drives you?
I appreciate that people recognize my interest in helping others as genuine and not for personal gains. I learned at a very young age that nothing makes one individual better than another, other than their own opinion. I have always been the guy that was friends with everyone no matter what their skin color, age or interests.
I simply want to make an impact in the world.
I like to encourage everyone to have a fulfilling and satisfying life. I believe even if I only impact one person at a time, it will make the world a much better place. I am simply doing my part with what I have; nothing more, nothing less. I feel forever grateful, because I know in a heartbeat circumstances can change and the power of a positive perspective can truly work wonders in people’s lives!
What do you love most about Canada and why? And why do you love representing them?
I cannot express my Patriotism any more by simply stating I have traveled the world and come to realize that when you mention you are a Canadian, you immediately garner the respect from others.
I feel so fortunate to be living in a country that provides me with everything and truly asks for nothing in return.
Other countries take notice and for that reason I simply love being an athlete in the public eye that represents our Nation. I may only be one athlete, but I make sure I am doing my part. With every show I do, I can feel the strength of Canada behind me; nothing in the world can surmount that feeling!
What’s the one thing you look forward to treating yourself to after a competition?
I love food so incredibly much! I find after a show, my ‘go to’ has been a pizza, a burger with fries, chicken wings and some kind of dessert. I usually don’t eat until hours after the show because I enjoy making time for my supporters as I make my way through the Expos and Arenas. That is my justification for eating an amalgamation of three meals! (Laughs) After the show, I will take two days off from my normal diet and then resume my normal diet by Monday.
How important do you feel posing and why?
I have worked with over two hundred athletes for posing, and I love it so incredibly much because posing is a representation of oneself! With each of my athlete ‘Legends,’ I ensure that their poses and transitions tell a story of who they are. Some athletes need to hide weaknesses, other’s need to emphasize their strengths, while others have such dominate body parts, we have to hide them as so not to overpower their other muscle groups.
Despite that, some individuals may have immobility’s and injuries that make it difficult to hit poses! It is my duty to solve these puzzles and help them present their best self, but also in a way that they are comfortable on stage! That is of the most importance, and with that they will exude confidence that will be recognized and cannot be denied by the judges!
As I tell all my clients, “You can’t walk on stage and say “Hey, my name is Eren, and I am a really nice guy when you get to know me!” “Vote for me!” You need to express yourself and tell the judges who you are in how you move!

I perform 30 minutes of HIIT on the upright bike every day, followed by 15 minutes of rowing.
What’s your favorite exercise for arms and why?
After every arm workout, I will finish it off with the ‘run the rack’ method. I will grab the heaviest dumbbells, within reason, and start curling. I perform as many reps as I can, and then continue to drop set, using the next lowest five pound increment until I can’t go on! This gives me a nice ‘skin splitting pump,’ and when I’m done I can barely put on my jacket!
What does your current diet look like?
I usually like to perform fasted workouts. It’s not for everyone, on a typical day this is how I eat!
- Meal 1: 7 Ounces Ground Beef and 7 Ounces Egg Whites
- Post Workout: 1 Banana
- Meal 2: 7 Ounces Chicken Breast, 7 Ounces White Rice and 7 Ounces Broccoli
- Meal 3: 9 Ounces Basa, 7 Ounces Broccoli and 1 ½ Ounces Assorted Nuts
- Meal 4: 5 Ounces Salmon, 2 Boiled Eggs and 7 Ounces Broccoli
- Meal 5: 7 Ounces Chicken Breast and 7 Ounces Broccoli
What nutritional approach do you take after dieting down for a contest?
There are many variables that I have to consider for my personal physique. But briefly after a show I will:
- Increase my hydration to 10 liters a day.
- Drop my rep range from 20 to 10 reps and lift abnormally heavy weights, while maintaining safe technique.
- I slowly taper off cardiovascular training each week.
- Finally, I will add one cheat meal a day after my fasted morning workouts.
For me the outcome is a maintained lean, but full and improved, stronger physique! This avoids 20 lbs of fat and water weight gain in one week.
Not everyone will respond to this protocol the same. That’s what’s so great about challenging yourself with these approaches; you find what works best for you.
Keep a daily journal, document every variable as you make modifications and be as meticulous as you can.
What’s your favorite flavor of protein powder?
I used to take protein powder religiously, but I have built up quite an intolerance to it and no longer supplement with it. Chocolate peanut butter, chocolate coconut and cookies and cream all come to mind as being my favorites.
What supplements could we find in your kitchen?
Being a Natural Athlete, I have invested months of research in finding Natural approaches to my supplementation!

What are some of your long term goals, and where would you like to see yourself this time next year?
So much has changed within one year, and I have never put restraints or limits on my life. I always love finding new ways to challenge myself. I feel I have accomplished everything I committed myself to this year in the Bodybuilding industry. I have plenty of passions and objectives and plan on using my accomplishments as a ‘springboard’ to promote my health and wellness message.
I plan to try my hand at acting and will continue Fitness Modeling. I also absolutely love coaching and am confident Legend Nation will really expand like never before in 2016!
I also have a few things up my sleeves, which I am keeping quiet for now, but I encourage you to come along for the ride!
What’s something that not many people know about you?
I love Mo-Town Classics! I don’t think I have told too many people that. But my genre in music varies, and I am truly a ‘man of music!’ There is something so melodic and soothing about music from that era that I love; I find relaxingly and pure. Occasionally, I will listen to it when I am working out; it has a great rhythm and tempo for cardio.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of the fitness industry?
I love to write. I have been writing a book for some time now. I find it very freeing to be able to unleash your thoughts and feelings into the world on paper! Outside of writing, I am a huge movie buff and you can find me at the theater at least once a week. If I am not there, I may be adding to my palette in my kitchen or at a restaurant with the many tastes of Toronto!
