Beastly Notes
Before I get started, I should mention that I am always on the lookout for a tasty carb source for my post workout shake. So I was excited when these ‘to go cups’ arrived to try them as a post workout treat!
Here’s what I did
After my work out, in a shaker cup, I would:
- Add 1 serving oats
- Add 8-10 ounces ice cold water
- Add 1 scoop protein powder
- Shake well
- Drink
Here’s what I’ve found
Brown Sugar and Maple was the sweetest of the four- pack. As soon as I opened the cup and added water, the aroma of pancakes with fresh maple syrup was in the air. All I can say is ‘yum!’
I liked the chunks of dried blueberries in the Blueberry Hazelnut cup. This one was very filling and had an excellent flavor too. It was less sweet, so if you prefer more of a natural sweetness, I know you’d like this one.
Apple Cinnamon was very sweet; it reminded me of the instant oatmeal packs I ate as a kid. Apple Cinnamon had a saltier taste to it which made it perfect post workout to replace my electrolytes that I depleted while training. Needless to say, I liked this one a lot too!
Classic had a very natural healthy wholesome flavor. I could really taste the flax and chia seeds in this one. If you’re a ‘health nut’ like me, you’ll really love the Classic cup.
Conclusion
Overall I give this product a 5/5.
Each little cup was very delicious in its own right! I also found this oatmeal was very easy to digest. I love the fact that these cups are so portable; they’d be great for the office or easy to pack for travel.
I will definitely be using Brown Sugar and Maple and Apple Cinnamon in my post workout shakes. For a healthy breakfast, you will find me eating Blueberry Hazelnut or Classic.
If you’re an oatmeal lover like me, you can’t go wrong with these ‘to go cups.’ I hope you found this review of Bob’s Red Mill Oats helpful.
