For those unfamiliar with you, can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got involved in the fitness industry?

Healthy eating and living an active lifestyle have always been a huge part of my life. Growing up, my parents always took us to activities and encouraged us to get outside. Throughout school, I played on the volleyball team. Once school was finished, I wanted to find something challenging and competitive. I started going to the gym consistently, and soon I became addicted!

Tell us about Pura Fit Girls.

Pura Fit Girls is an online training business that my former trainer, Jamie and I started. We work together to provide custom meal plans and workout programs for the home or gym. We even hold online challenges. Our transformation challenges have been a huge hit and have given our clients amazing results which can easily be maintained. Pura Fit Girls also sells gym clothing and accessories and are always posting motivational pictures and healthy recipes on Facebook and Instagram. Be sure to stop by and check it out!

It’s a blessing to be able to guide and inspire others!

How did you become involved with Magnum Nutraceuticals? And tell us a little bit about the demos and what you love most about them?

From the beginning, becoming sponsored was always a goal of mine, but I wanted to represent a company I really believed in, not just whatever was handed to me. Throughout my fitness journey, I have used Magnum products and have admired everything about the company. All of Magnum’s ingredients are high quality and pharmaceutical grade; they taste great, and the team behind Magnum really is something special! I approached Magnum earlier this spring, and was blessed with the opportunity of becoming a sponsored athlete.

Several times a month, I host demos at Fitness West in Vernon British Columbia. I give out samples of Magnum products and healthy baked goods with recipe cards. It’s a lot of fun! I enjoy being able to interact with everyone and help them find Magnum products that fit their needs.

What is your secret to your incredible glute development?

I train legs heavy once a week, but have a second day dedicated strictly to my glutes. I always incorporate one of these into my workouts.

  • Saturday: Back and Abs
  • Sunday: Recovery

Risa’s Typical Diet

Again, I am unable to share my full meal plan because I am signed with a coach, but I can share my breakfast and favorite meal with you. This is the same every single day whether I am dieting or not!

Risa’s Go to Breakfast: Egg White Pancake

  • 1 Cup Egg Whites
  • 1/3-1/2 Cup Large Rolled Oats
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 Teaspoon Truvia

Risa’s Directions

  1. Mix ingredients together.
  2. Pour into a frying pan sprayed with cooking spray.
  3. Gently flip, once pancake is lightly browned.
  4. Cook other side.
  5. Once both sides are lightly brown and pancake is firm, remove.
  6. Serve with 1 tablespoon natural nut butter.

Risa’s Favorite Meal

  • 3 Ounces Ground Turkey, Chopped Onion, Celery, Sea Salt, Oregano, Sage, Pepper, Thyme and Garlic Powder
  • 3 Ounces Sweet Potato
  • 3 Ounces Steamed Green Beans
Tastes like Thanksgiving in a Tupperware.

What’s your favorite thing to make in the kitchen?

Breakfast is my favorite time of day. So my favorite thing to make in the kitchen is my ‘go to breakfast.’ I also love baking and cooking big family meals for the holidays.

What’s the one food you couldn’t live without?

Magnum’s Quattro Half Baked Cookies and Cream and nut butter of course! Raw almond butter is my favorite.

What’s your favorite color for your nails?

Nude colors, always.

What are some of your favorite outdoor activities, and who do you enjoy doing them with?

My favorite activities include outdoor grass and beach volleyball, snowboarding, wake surfing, hiking, hunting and fishing! I enjoy doing these things with my parents and siblings, or my two best friends Taylor and Jamie.

What do you love most about this lifestyle?

I love the mental clarity and endless progress that bodybuilding provides me with.
