For those unfamiliar with you, can you tell us a bit about your background and the sacrifices you have made to get to where you are today.

From my bio:

International top fitness model and television personality Pauline Nordin is literally ExerciseTV’s most butt-busting trainer. The star of “The Butt Bible” video workouts traveled a long road with many hurdles to become the straight-forward fitness star she is today.

Pauline Nordin was born in Ystad, Sweden. By the time she was 12 she had developed body image issues that led to an eating disorder. For the next five years she cut nearly all CALORIES FROM her diet and worked out for several hours every day. She dropped down to 85 pounds before turning things around.

Nordin found inspiration on the cover of a fitness magazine she saw at age 17. Looking at the cover model made her realize the difference between being unhealthily skinny and being lean, toned and fit. She resolved to stop destroying her body and focused on becoming a fitness ATHLETE. By 20 she was participating in BODYBUILDING competitions.

Her career caught the attention of the producers for the Nordic version of “Biggest Loser.” In this take on the international hit reality television series, trainers from each of the region’s countries helped contestants from their homeland drop the most weight. She spent three months in Estonia living in a castle in the middle of nowhere shooting the 2006 season,. She was the trainer, diet coach, and leader for the Swedish team, leading her country to victory.

Nordin left Sweden later that same year to move to America. She authored “The Fighter Diet” , an e-book which presented a gutsy FAT loss system that brought her fans and attention in the United States. She began appearing in features and on the cover of American fitness magazines, which highlighted her tough but effective no-nonsense style.

“You can diet all you want, but you will become a smaller version of your fat self. Training is the best thing you can do for your body,” is the advice frequently offered by Nordin. Her dedication and style put her on the radar for ExerciseTV, part of NBCUniversal, which signed her up to be a trainer for the leading digital fitness network.

The Butt Bible, her first project as an ExerciseTV trainer, is a complete fitness system that helps beat any backside into shape with an innovative approach featuring 6 kickass, circuit-style video workouts covering all levels of intensity. Each is designed to efficiently create lean muscle, build cardio endurance and burn fat and calories. These workouts are made for everyone, from hardcore athletes to everyday people, with aspirations of having an amazing backside.

“When you have a pair of nice glutes you feel like you own the world. Your butt is going to be toned, and sexy, and tight – not jiggly,” pledges the straight-talking Nordin.

Tell us about your current sponsors and how you got connected with them; also about the new video series, Muscle and Strength no BS.

I think the video clip speaks for itself here best

Can you tell us about your Fighter Diet and the philosophy behind it, and how do you respond when people think your lifestyle is too strict.

Fighter Diet is not just a way of eating. It’s a lifestyle. It’s training, eating, sleeping, what you think and how you think, mental attitude and go for it spirit. No losers, only winners. The creme de la creme of those who chose to be the best versions of themselves inside and out.

Do you have a pre-workout ritual that you would like to share with us?

I drink my decaf venti decaf Americano, one iced one hot, plus take FDXtreme Burn pre cardio, FDXTreme Pump pre lift. I down essential aminos, put on Dirty dutch Digital on max and roll over to the gym in my range rover called Biggie Smalls.

What are your all-time top favorite songs to train to?

pauline-nordin-4Respect my conglomerate by Busta Rhymes, Bullet in your head by RATM, “I want that old thing back” by Notorious, 5 feet 7 by Lil Wayne.

What does your pre and post workout nutrition look like?

Essential aminos and BCAAs , post is my oat bran and casein protein (my own brand has one in development that’s grass-fed, no hormone treated milk).

Do you implement stretching or using a foam roller into your training program? If so do you think it helps and why?

YES! it’s essential! For high kicks I need to be flexible! I roll but use a rolling-pin instead of a foam roller. I also do my own trigger point therapy.

What potential do you think a woman in her late 30’s early 40’s has, just starting weight training. And what do you think some realistic expectations for her could be?

Your body will go through a lot of great changes to the better any time you start. I would say you need to be training non stop for a year to really make a difference in muscle gain. Fat loss is a faster process, you can change a lot in a couple of months.

Do you have a hard time finding clothes to fit you? If so what is the biggest challenge?

Yes, shoulders and lats too big for blouses, but waist too big. In jeans my calves are sometimes too thick.

Do you prefer going out or do you enjoy a quiet evening at home?

I am a workaholic. I love working from home!

Is your family supportive of you and how do they feel about what you do?

They live in Sweden and I don’t see them often. I never go home to Sweden, I meet up my mom once a year in some city we choose.

If there were just 3 tips you could give us, what would they be?

  1. Be consistent
  2. Be patient
  3. Work hard
